令和8年度関東地方発明表彰「中小企業庁長官賞」を受賞

株式会社CYBOは、当社代表取締役 新田 尚、取締役 合田 圭介、開発部長 杉村 武昭が、「形態分化クラスターによる細胞集団の表示方法」を受賞題目として令和8年度関東地方発明表彰の中小企業庁長官賞を受賞したことをお知らせします。受賞者の3名はいずれも当社の共同創業者です。
本発明は、AIが細胞画像を分類する際に算出する、各分類クラスに対する「確信度」をグラフ上に可視化する技術です。確信度の分布を表示することで、細胞集団の構成や特徴的な細胞群の存在を捉えやすくします。また、グラフ上で対象の細胞群を選択する「ゲーティング」により、細胞形態に基づく集団の抽出や定量的な解析を支えます。
本技術は、2018年に科学誌「Cell」で発表したインテリジェント画像活 性セルソーターの開発過程で生まれました。その後、2026年2月に科学誌「Nature」で発表したデジタル細胞診の研究においても、形態分化クラスター（CMD）を用いた細胞集団解析の中核を担っています。現在は、CYBO ViewやCYBO AIファミリーをはじめとする当社のソフトウェア製品にも組み込まれ、活用されています。
なお、2026年11月19日（木）に宇都宮東武ホテルグランデで開催される表彰式には、当社の受賞者らが出席する予定です。
当社は今後も、細胞の画像解析やAIを活用した技術開発を通じて、細胞診のデジタル化と定量的な細胞解析の発展に取り組んでまいります。

CYBO is pleased to announce that Nao Nitta, Representative Director of CYBO; Keisuke Goda, Director; and Takeaki Sugimura, VP of Engineering, have received the Commissioner of the Japan Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Award at the 2026 Kanto Regional Invention Awards. The award recognizes their work under the title “Method for Displaying Cell Populations Using Clusters of Morphological Differentiation.”
The invention visualizes the probability scores that AI assigns to individual classification categories when analyzing cell images. By displaying the distribution of these scores, it helps users understand the composition of cell populations and identify distinctive cell groups. It also supports the selection and quantitative analysis of cell populations based on their morphology through “gating,” a process of selecting groups of cells on a plot.
The technology originated during the development of the Intelligent Image-Activated Cell Sorter, reported in Cell in 2018. It subsequently played a central role in cell population analysis using clusters of morphological differentiation (CMD) in the digital cytology research published in Nature in February 2026. The technology is also incorporated into CYBO’s software products, including CYBO View and the CYBO AI family.
CYBO’s award recipients are scheduled to attend the awards ceremony at Utsunomiya Tobu Hotel Grande on November 19, 2026.
CYBO will continue to advance digital cytology and quantitative cell analysis through the development of cell image analysis and AI technologies.
