The paper that formed the technological basis for the establishment of CYBO received the Frontier of Science Award. Nao Nitta, President and CEO, and Keisuke Goda, Director, participated in the award ceremony held at The First International Congress of Basic Science in Beijing, China.

The Frontier of Science Award recognizes the paper with the highest scholarly impact published in the past five years. A research paper entitled "Intelligent Image-Activated Cell Sorting," published in Cell in 2018, has been selected as one of the winners in the field of theoretical computer information science. Keisuke Goda and Nao Nitta, the corresponding author and the first author of the winning paper, participated in the award ceremony held at the opening ceremony of the First ICBS Congress in Beijing, China.

The paper that received the award is an iconic research achievement resulting from the ImPACT program "Planned Serendipity (Keisuke Goda PM)" and was published in the scientific journal Cell in 2018 (details available here). It has been widely recognized internationally, including receiving the Awards for Science and Technology in the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and being selected as finalists for the Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis.

Since its establishment in 2018 based on the technology developed in this award-winning paper, CYBO has been developing ENMA and SHIGI, and will continue to develop its business to help solve real-world problems in medicine and other areas with its groundbreaking cutting-edge technology.
